Decision juried into H x W x D

I am pleased to announce that my sculpture, Decision, was accepted into Height x Width X Depth, the 12th Annual Juried Sculpture Exhibition at the Rosewood Gallery in Kettering, Ohio. An opening reception will be held on Thursday, August 30, 2018 from 6-8 pm. The exhibition was open to sculptors from Ohio and its surrounding states. The exhibit will be on view from August 27 through October 5, 2018.

Decision, completed in 2018, is part of my Hand Tools series. The work contains a 22kt gold beaded swath held in the jaws of a large pair of shears by rows of wrapped thread. "The word decision is sourced in the word that means ‘to cut off.’ To decide is to fully embrace one option and cut off all others. This requires bravery, because each decision you make necessarily closes other doors.” Todd Henry, Louder Than Words.

More thread wrapping occurs at the handles on the shears. The sculpture is welded to its steel base and its H x W x D measures 13" x 6.25" x 2". It is my honor to have been selected for H x W x D for a second year along with the other juried artists from Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Kentucky, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania.
