July 6, 2018 was a busy evening for art openings in Cleveland, with the opening of FRONT triennial among others, but I took an hour drive south to Wooster for the opening of the second venue of the Best of 2018 exhibit. The Wayne Center for the Arts has hosted Best of... for several years as its second location, giving more Ohioans a chance to see these fine exhibits of contemporary craft. Kathryn Gremley, Director of the Penland Gallery, was juror for this year's Best of 2018 exhibit and it is an annual show organized by the Ohio Craft Museum in Columbus.

Shown are my two pieces, Hook Line and Illusion Shatterer, on display next to the wonderful art quilt by Susan Shie. I ran into Susan and her husband Jimmy at the opening and she remarked that the neutral grey painted walls in the gallery allow the artworks to be shown to best effect. Below are detail photos of the two pieces of mine that were juried into into the Best of 2018.

Thank you to the Ohio Craft Museum for organizing this wonderful and inspiring showing of contemporary craft each year . I consider it truly an honor to be included again in this collection of excellent work.
